Computer – our best friend. That should be probably motto of 21st century. Most of us are daily working with them, and many also use them at home. Computers and Internet are not only connecting us with friends and family, but also with our enemies. They also help us with other necessary matters such as bank transfers and other administrating of our financial sources, and it is just this sphere of our life, that is attracting our foes’ attention. Now imagine that all your money can be stolen in few seconds. Imagine a very strange person would get passwords to all your accounts and abuse them for self-enrichment. And do believe me – people like this really e! xist! One of them is 27-year-old Armenian, who belongs to a group that uses computer servers in the Netherlands to infect into computers of other people. In this particular case, at least 30 million computers worldwide were infected with a virus that allows others to obtain information like bank passwords from infected computers. This Armenian, who was arrested at the Yerevan international airport, was believed to be the brains behind the notorious criminal Bredolab network. The network was capable to infect three million computers per month, AFP informed. There were sent about 3.6 billion virus e-mails to users daily (!!!) by the end of 2009. As the prosecuting service informed, a total number of 143 computer servers had to be disconnected in the Netherlands on Monday. Wim de Bruin, prosecution spokesman said, Netherlands was discussing with Armenia about the possibility of the suspect being put on trial in Netherlands. If negotiations went well and what would the punishme! nt for this Armenian would be like is not known yet.
